Our Values

Truth

God’s Word is truth. It will not return void.

In a culture of shifting values and wavering opinions, the church must cling to the unchanging Truth of God’s Word. The night before Jesus was crucified, he prayed to God the Father on our behalf and asked “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). Jesus knew what the church was going to face in the years to come. He knew that we would need to be anchored in a Truth that is constant and unfailing.

We must embrace the Truth that God has given us in His word. It is through the Scriptures that we can see the incredible character of God.

Love

We believe a friendly church is a loving church. Love conquers all.

1 Corinthians 16:14 says, “And do everything with love.” Everything we do must be done within a spirit of love. The good news of Christ finds its foundation in an all encompassing, unconditional love. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:3 “If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.”

We value an emphasis on the love of God expressed through God’s grace displayed through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ as the source and key to living the abundant life that Jesus promised.

Outreach

We want to see the lost, and those who’ve lost their way find Jesus.

We are committed to Outreach - helping our neighbors through programs and actions, and bringing others to know Christ.

In order to make disciples, first we must reach unbelievers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Jesus told His disciples to be witnesses for Him “in Jerusalem, and Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)  We uphold this as the model for the Church today.  We are called to reach the world for Christ, beginning in our own community.  We ought to be in God’s service.  As followers of Christ we must be bold and clear in bringing the Gospel to our community.  We cannot merely exist here for years, making little or no impact in the community, and call ourselves successful followers of Christ.  We do this by serving the community and providing opportunities for individuals to hear, to understand, and to respond to the Gospel.

Families

We are committed to helping families and young people experience Jesus.

We believe the family is the basic building block of human civilization, and that children are a valuable, precious gift and blessing from God (Psalm 127:3). While children are called to honor and obey their parents (Ephesians 6:1-3), parents are called to patiently love, raise, shape, and prepare their children to follow God's path (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Colossians 3:21; Ephesians 6:4). Through teaching, we show children how to apply God's Word in everyday situations, and help them understand how they can relate to God and to people. As children become adults, they, in turn, can do the same with their children - joyfully passing on the faith.

The Holy Spirit

For He is the Power of God.

People in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ are to live in holiness and obedience as they submit to the Holy Spirit. Sent by the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit applies Christ’s saving work by enlightening the minds of sinners to their need to be saved. He renews and dwells inside each believer upon salvation, becoming their source of assurance, strength, wisdom, and gifts for building up the church. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding and applying the Bible. Through faith, The Holy Spirit empowers believers to lead a life of Christ-like character and bear fruit for the Father’s glory.
